Meet the Team
Lauren is an art historian, specialising in late medieval medical and visual culture. She is currently a teaching fellow at University College London and is about to submit her Ph.D. thesis.
Recently, Lauren co-edited the twenty-first issue of Object: Graduate research and reviews in the History of Art and Visual Culture. She organised workshops, events and conferences.
Lauren is interested in issues of skin, gender and medical history. She is committed to public engagement and sharing research with a wider audience.

Dr Laura Scalabrella Spada
Laura has recently completed her PhD at University College London in the Department of History of Art. Her research revolves around early modern Italian and French prints, with a particular emphasis on the body and its processes, boundaries, and relations.
She has published on natural philosophy, theories and politics of corporeality and performance and animation in early modern prints.
She is currently conducting art historical research for an independent, collaborative project.
